Exhaust gas turbocharger with component parts - Summary of components
The exhaust turbocharger and the exhaust manifold are one component part.
1 - 9 Nm
2 - Oil feed line, 22 Nm
q   check continuity
q   before installing, fill the bearing housing of the exhaust gas turbocharger on the connection fitting with engine oil
q   Tighten the union nut using the socket wrench insert -T40055- and the adapted fixed spanner SW 14 → Chapter
3 - Exhaust gas turbocharger
q   only complete with exhaust manifold
q   removing and installing → Chapter
q   Remove and install the connection pipe for the intake hose → Chapter
4 - 8 Nm
q   replace
5 - Vacuum setting element
q   with position sender for charge pressure regulator -G581-
q   replace → Chapter
q   Replacement parts set → Electronic Catalogue of Original Parts
6 - Counternut (high), 8 Nm
q   replace
7 - Adjusting nut, 8 Nm
q   replace
8 - Connector
q   to position sender for charge pressure regulator -G581-
9 - Heat shield collar
q   replace if damaged
10 - Gasket
q   replace
11 - Connecting pipe
q   to radiator for exhaust gas recirculation
12 - 25 Nm
q   replace
13 - Connecting pipe
q   to radiator for exhaust gas recirculation
  Caution
Pay attention that the bellows of the connection pipe is not bent or overstretched. There is a risk of crack formation.
14 - Exhaust gas temperature sender 1 -G235- (Temperature sender upstream turbocharger -G507-), 45 Nm
q   the thread of a new sender must be coated with assembly paste
q   coat thread with hot bolt paste -G 052 112 A3- before installing a used sender
q   removing and installing → Chapter
15 - 8 Nm
16 - Support
q   for oil feed line
17 - Heat shield
18 - Support for exhaust gas turbocharger
q   for oil return-flow line
19 - Sealing ring
q   replace
20 - Hollow screw, 60 Nm
21 - Oil return pipe
  Caution
Before installing, check whether the bellows of the oil return pipe is not bent or overstretched. If this is the case, microcracks might occur which can result in leaks. Replace damaged oil return pipe or support for exhaust gas turbocharger.
22 - 15 Nm
23 - Pulsation dampener
24 - 10 Nm
