14. If air bag did not deploy, consult Suzuki for disposal procedures.
IN VEHICLE DEPLOYMENT
Before scrapping a vehicle equipped with air bag(s), air bag module(s) must be deployed.
1. Turn ignition to Lock position and disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove all objects from seats and instrument panel, then open vehicle windows.
3. If deploying driver's air bag module, remove cap from lefthand side of steering wheel and disconnect electrical connector.
4. If deploying passenger's air bag module, open glove compartment, push inward on lefthand and righthand side stoppers and remove compartment,
then disconnect electrical connector.
5. Ensure air bag modules are firmly mounted to vehicle.
6. Connect special air bag deployment harness tool No. 09932-75030, or equivalent, and plug harness leads together.
7. Stretch deployment harness from air bag module out full length, approximately 33 ft.
8. Position a fully charged 12 volt battery near end of harness opposite air bag module. Do not connect battery to deployment harness at this time

9. Connect deployment harness to air bag module electrical connector, Fig. 16.
10. Cover windshield and front window openings with drop cloth, then ensure no people, animals or objects are in area of vehicle.
11. Separate two deployment harness plug leads.

12. Deploy air bag module by contacting one plug lead to battery positive terminal and other lead to negative terminal, Fig. 17.
13. When deploying air bag, ensure area is clear. No poisonous gas is produced upon deployment. However, do not inhale gas since it could
irritate throat and can cause choking.
14. Allow at least 30 minutes after deployment for air bag components to cool.
15. Do not attempt to disassemble air bags: they cannot be used again.
16. If air bags did not deploy, consult Suzuki for disposal procedures.
