Constant Velocity Joint Boot: Service and Repair
Removal and Installation

Front Drive Shaft

REMOVAL

1. Remove the front wheel.

NOTE: When installing the front wheel, tighten it to 110 Nm (83 ft. lbs.).

2. Drain the differential oil.
3. Remove the drive shaft lock nut by performing the following.

a. Remove the cotter pin and lock cap.
b. While applying the brakes, remove the lock nut.

NOTE: When installing the lock nut, tighten it to 235 Nm (174 ft. lbs.).
