Applicable Warranty:*

This repair is covered under the Toyota Basic Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the
vehicle's in-service date.

* Warranty application is limited to correction on a problem based upon a customer's specific complaint.

Repair Procedure (Common)

1.

Directly below the rear package tray under the center plastic cover is located a white connector. When depressing the brake pedal, check on the
vehicle harness side (A) for constant battery voltage (12+1-2 volts). If no voltage is found at this location continue troubleshooting the vehicle
harness using the appropriate EWD.

Check spoiler light main harness located directly under the trunk inner liner. Check connector (B) for battery voltage (12+1-2 volts). If no voltage
is found repair the spoiler light main harness.

NOTE:

On Corolla models with "Type 2" (Koito) light, there is no sub-harness. Check spoiler light connector (B) by back- probing the sub-harness
connector (with the two harnesses connected). If connector is bad, replace with connector provided in kit. If no problem is found, replace spoiler
light.

Remove spoiler light and check for battery voltage at sub-harness to spoiler light connector (C). If voltage is found replace the spoiler light
(illustrations).
