SYMPTOM:

No illumination on '87 model vehicles when used in conjunction with the following '88 cassette decks:

CAUSE:

The sub-assembly DIN connector wire
(P/N 08689-00802) is missing the ground wire connector.

CORRECTION:

Replace the sub-assembly DIN connector wire with improved wire which incorporates a white tape marking on the cord.
The part number (P/N 08689-00802) remains the same.
