A Premature Rust Condition May

Occur on Your 1987 Camry Wagon Tailgate

Dear Toyota Owner:

As part of our continuing interest in maintaining the highest quality standards for appearance and durability on our products, Toyota will initiate a
service campaign to correct a premature rust condition on a part of the tailgate that may occur on some 1987 Camry Wagons. Our records indicate that
you own a 1987 Camry wagon that is involved in this campaign.
WHAT IS THE PROBLEM?

The finish panel on the outside of the tailgate may rub the paint surface and result in paint damage or premature rusting.

WHAT WILL TOYOTA DO?

Any Toyota dealer will install parts to protect the tailgate paint surface and repair any damage or rust free of charge. Any Toyota dealer will
also, after verification of expenses, reimburse you for any related repairs that were performed prior to receiving this notification.

WHAT SHOULD YOU DO TO GET YOUR CAR REPAIRED?

Contact any Toyota dealer and make an appointment to have your car inspected and repaired. Our dealers have been notified, in detail, of this
service campaign. Be sure to call for an appointment as it may be necessary to leave your car at the dealer for the repair.

If you have sold or traded your car, please fill in the enclosed card and mail it back to us.

SPECIAL SERVICE CAMPAIGN - SSC H04 PREMATURE RUST CONDITION ON 1987 CAMRY WAGON TAILGATE

Toyota will initiate a special service campaign to correct a premature rust condition on a part of the tailgate that may occur on some 1987 Camry
wagons. The finish panel on the outside of the tailgate may rub against the painted surface and result in paint damage or premature rusting. Some parts
must be installed to prevent this paint damage and, if necessary, the damaged area caused by this condition must be repaired.
