Ensure boot is not stretched or damaged in any way when the driveshaft is at assembled length, Fig. 8 and 9. On Camry models, right and left
side driveshaft assembled length should be 17.744 inches (450.7mm). On Corolla models, left side driveshaft assembled length should be
16.54 inches (420mm) and right driveshaft assembled length should be 27.48 inches (698mm) on all except FX series w/man. trans. On Corolla
FX series w/man. trans., right driveshaft assembled length should be 27.56 inches (700mm).

Raise and support vehicle, then remove engine undercover (if equipped).
2.
Remove cotter pin and bearing locknut cap.
3.
While depressing the brake pedal, loosen bearing locknut.
4.
While depressing the brake pedal, loosen six nuts attaching front driveshaft to intermediate shaft or differential side gear shaft assembly if
equipped, Fig. 4.
5.
Remove brake caliper from steering knuckle and suspend unit with piece of wire.
6.
Remove disc rotor and lefthand side transaxle case protector, if equipped.
7.
Disconnect steering knuckle from lower arm as follows:
