b. Place the synchronizer ring on the gear and align the ring slots with the shifting keys.
c. Using Special Service Tool (SST) 09608-03071 or equivalents, and a press, install the rear ball bearing.
6. Install snap ring, as follows:
a. Select a snap ring that will allow minimum axial play.
Marks:
A: 2.29 mm (0.0902 inch).
B: 2.35 mm (0.0925 inch).
C: 2.41 mm (0.0949 inch).
D: 2.47 mm (0.0972 inch).
E: 2.53 mm (0.0996 inch).
F: 2.59 mm (0.1020 inch).
b. Using a screwdriver and hammer, tap in the snap ring.
7. Inspect 4th gear thrust clearance.
