Recall - Rear Seat Belt Guides

SPECIAL SERVICE CAMPAIGN - K04

Toyota will initiate a special service campaign to replace the outboard rear seat belt guides with modified ones on certain 1982 through 1988 Toyota
Land Cruisers.

Under certain circumstances, the rear seat lap belt may not return to the fully retracted position after use. Consequently, due to the characteristics of the
automatic locking retractor, the belt locks and cannot be pulled out for subsequent use.

You are requested, using the following information, to install the modified seat belt guides on the vehicles involved in this campaign, including all
vehicles currently in your stock.

Note:

You will be sent SSC notifications with your dealer's name and address for vehicles which, according to our record, you have in stock. If
any vehicles in your stock involved in this campaign have been sold to an ultimate customer prior to receipt of this notification, please
contact this known customer and perform the necessary repairs.

Note:

Although the involved vehicles are within the above VIN ranges, not all vehicles in these ranges were imported to the United
States.

The enclosed special service campaign dealer/owner list (SSC K04) indicates each customer's name, address and vehicle identification number that are
involved in this campaign in your area. You may also utilize this for your future follow-up system.

Parts ordering

As with all campaigns, necessary parts must be ordered from your facing Parts Distribution Center.

In order to avoid excessive parts orders and maintain adequate parts inventory, it is highly recommended that your initial parts order of the seat belt
retractor kit does not exceed 5% of the number of the vehicles indicated on the enclosed special service campaign dealer/owner list (SSC K04).
