AXLE AND DIFFERENTIAL: REAR DIFFERENTIAL CARRIER OIL SEAL: REPLACEMENT

REPLACEMENT

1. REMOVE PROPELLER WITH CENTER BEARING SHAFT ASSEMBLY

HINT:  Refer to the procedure up to Remove Propeller With Center Bearing Assembly  See: Drive/Propeller Shafts, Bearings and
Joints/Drive/Propeller Shaft/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Removal.

2. DRAIN DIFFERENTIAL OIL

(a) Using a hexagon wrench (10 mm), remove the differential cover plug and gasket.

(b) Using a hexagon wrench (10 mm), remove the differential drain plug and gasket, then drain the oil.

(c) Using a hexagon wrench (10 mm), install the differential drain plug with a new gasket.

Torque: 39 Nm (400 kgf-cm, 29 ft-lbf)

(d) Using a hexagon wrench (10 mm), install the differential cover plug with a new gasket.

3. REMOVE ELECTRO MAGNETIC CONTROL COUPLING SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect the electro magnetic control coupling sub-assembly connector and tube.
