Oil Pump: Service and Repair
Oil Pump Replace

1.

Disconnect battery ground cable.

2.

Remove oil dipstick and drain engine oil.

3.

Remove timing belt as outlined previously.

4.

install suitable engine lifting equipment.

5.

Remove crankshaft timing pulley and oil pump pulley.

6.

On models equipped with A/C, disconnect A/C compressor electrical connector, remove compressor attaching bolts, then position aside, remove
compressor mounting bracket.

7.

On all models, disconnect oxygen sensor electrical connector, then disconnect front exhaust pipe stay and exhaust pipe.

8.

Remove oil pan two attaching nuts and eight bolts, then using suitable tool, cut off oil pan sealer and remove pan.

9.

Remove oil strainer and O-ring.

10.

Remove pressure regulator valve.

11.

Remove nine oil pump attaching bolts and tension spring bracket.

12.

Using suitable soft faced hammer, remove oil pump and O-ring.

13.

Reverse procedure to install.
