About the Pickup
Toyota's compact pickup is the Hilux, but in North America the Hilux name was dropped from the 1976 model year in favour of "Pickup", and from 1984 "Truck"; the SR5 option package was often used as its name. The 4Runner began as the Hilux's wagon version.
