Antenna Motor

With the antenna stuck in the up position, connect as shown.

If the antenna goes down, the motor and cable drive are O.K.

NOTE:

When using the jumper wires, you bypass the upper and lower limit switches. Do not apply voltage for more than ten seconds and disconnect
the ground as soon as the antenna reaches the fully up or fully down position.

(c)

If the antenna rod does not move and the motor does not make a sound, the motor has failed. Replace the entire antenna assembly with the relay.
(Refer to Page 1 for part numbers.)

(d)

If only the rod assembly has been damaged (physical damage), the rod assembly with drive cable and housing may be replaced. Bench test motor
and relay to ensure they are O.K.

If the motor and drive cable are O.K., check that you have voltage at Terminals 6 and 8 of the antenna control relay (light blue/green and light
blue/black wires).

(a)

If not, check for current at Terminals 3, 4 and 8 of the radio connector (light blue/red, light blue/black and light blue/green for Cressida; grey,
black and red/white for Celica and Supra; blue/red, black and pink/light blue for Camry) . If there is no current at Terminals 4 and 8 or current
only at Terminal 4, the radio is damaged. If there is no current at Terminal 3, the wire from the fuse is damaged.

(b)

If yes, and the motor is O.K., then the ground wire (white/black) is poorly connected or broken or the relay is damaged. Repair or replace as
necessary.

Make sure that the drain hose is properly routed and is not kinked or clogged.

Additional Information for Radio with Tape Player Combinations:

When the radio is playing and the antenna is in the up position, and a cassette is inserted in the tape player, the radio is shut off automatically, but
the antenna remains up. If the ignition is turned off with the cassette in place, the antenna will go down. It will remain in the down position if the
ignition is turned back on with the cassette still in place.
