Assembly

1)

Pass the drive cable of the new rod through the hole on the motor assembly and insert the drive cable in the drive housing.

Using a punch and hammer, crimp the drive cable in the new drive housing retainer as shown. (Fig. 10, 11)

NOTE:

Check that the length is 19 mm (0.75 in.) as in the illustration after crimping the wire.

2)

Install the drive housing in the drive mechanism with the four screws. (Fig. 12)

NOTE:

Align the drive cable retainer of the drive housing with the recessed portion of the driving mechanism.

3)

Lubricate the drive cable and inside of the gear cover with molybdenum disulfide grease.

4)

Extend the antenna fully and install the drive mechanism assembly to the shaft. (Fig. 13)

5)

Install the rod to the motor assembly and apply waterproof sealant such as 3M Silicone Sealer or equivalent around the connection. (Fig. 14)
