INSPECTION

1.

To disassemble pump, remove oil pump drive spline and O-ring, then remove relief valve plug, spring, relief valve piston and gears, Fig. 149.

2.

Inspect drive spline, drive and driven gears, pump body and timing chain cover for excessive wear or damage.

Measure driven gear to body clearance, Fig. 138. 
Maximum clearance is .008 inch (.2 mm).
