Accelerator Pump: Testing and Inspection
System Testing

    The following temperature ranges are approximates, a slightly variation between actual temperature and temperature range is acceptable. With a
temperature of 122°F, the AAP system should be on and the TVSV/BVSV (ported vacuum switch) should be open. With a temperature of 131°F, the
AAP system should be on and the TVSV/BVSV (ported vacuum switch) should be open. With a temperature of 154°F, the AAP system should be off
and the TVSV/BVSV (ported vacuum switch) should be closed. With a temperature of 165°F, the AAP system should be off and the TVSV/BVSV
(ported vacuum switch) should be closed.

1.

Ensure engine coolant is below calibration point of ported vacuum switch.

2.

Remove air cleaner, then start engine.

3.

Pinch AAP hose, then stop engine.

4.

Release hose.

5.

Ensure gasoline spurts out from acceleration nozzle.

6.

Run engine until it reaches operating temperature.

7.

Pinch AAP hose, then stop engine.

8.

Ensure gasoline does not spurt out from acceleration nozzle.

9.

Install air cleaner.

10.

If test results are unsatisfactory, test individual components.
