INSTALLATION OF RECEIVER-TYPE HITCH

In some cases, it may be difficult to install the Previa Towing Hitch Receiver (Part No. 00214 28900) because of one or both of the following conditions:

1)

Interference between the bottom flange of the vehicle rear frame opening and the hitch receiver mounting bracket.

2)

Mis-alignment of the weldnut holes in the hitch receiver mounting bracket with the corresponding factory frame holes.

In these cases, installation of the towing hitch receiver will be simplified if the following modification procedures are first carried out.

MODIFICATION PROCEDURES:

Bottom Flange Modification (Rear Frame Opening)

On both the driver and passenger side of the vehicle, use a rubber mallet or plastic hammer to bend the bottom portion of the rear frame opening flanges
inward 30~-45~ away from the mounting location of the receiver mounting bracket (see illustration for proper flange bending location). Apply an
anti-corrosion material (Tectyl # 506G, 3M Rust Fighter "I", Kent Industries Black Undercoat or equivalent) to any area of the bent flange where paint
has chipped off.
