Doors - Rattling Noise From Sliding Side Door

SLIDING SIDE DOOR RATTLE

Some Previa vehicles may exhibit a rattling noise that originates from inside the side sliding door. The noise may vary in intensity according to road
conditions and vehicle speed.

This noise may be caused by contact between the actuating cable which connects the door handle to the lock cylinder, and the inner door sheet metal.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

Wrap adhesive backed foam material completely around the cable in the locations shown below.
Note:

the adhesive backed foam material may be obtained from the "Squeak and Rattle Repair Kit ", Toyota P/N 08231-00801.

Vehicles produced from March 1990 have the upper portion of the cable wrapped with foam. Vehicles produced from May 1990 have both portions of
the cable wrapped.
