Introduction
Customers may complain of a tick or creak noise from the left or right side of the dash area when driving over rough road surfaces. This TSB provides a
field fix repair to improve this condition.
Applicable Vehicles

2001 - 2002 model year Sequoia vehicles produced before the VIN shown below.

This repair is covered under the Toyota Comprehensive Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from
the vehicle's in-service date.
* Warranty application is limited to correction of a problem based upon a customer's specific complaint.
Repair Procedure
1.
Remove the hood.
2.
Remove the hood hinge on the affected side of the vehicle. (If the noise is coming from the driver's side of the vehicle, remove the driver's side
hood hinge etc.)
HINT:
The forward bolt on the hood hinge is easily removed with an open-ended wrench. For easier removal of the rear bolt, use a 1/4" drive wobble or
universal jointed socket.
