Cooling Fan Motor

COOLING FAN MOTOR 

ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION 
1. INSPECT COOLING FAN MOTOR

a) Check the cooling fan motor operation.

1) Disconnect the cooling fan motor connector.
2) Check that the fan operates when the positive battery is connected to terminal M+ and the negative battery to terminal M-.
3) Measure the amperage.

Standard amperage: 10.6 to 11.6 A 
If the result is not as specified, replace the cooling fan motor.

4) Reconnect the cooling fan motor connector.

2. INSPECT COOLING FAN MOTOR NO.2

a) Check the cooling fan motor No. 2 operation.

1) Disconnect the cooling fan motor No. 2 connector.
2) Check that the fan operates when the positive battery is connected to terminal S+ and the negative battery to terminal S-.
3) Measure the amperage.

Standard amperage: 10.6 to 11.6 A 
If the result is not as specified, replace the fan motor No. 2.

4) Reconnect the cooling fan connector No. 2 connector.
