c. Pry the No. 1 idler pulley toward the right as far as it will go and temporarily tighten it.

Checking Valve Timing And Belt Tension

Check valve timing and timing belt tension, as follows:
a. Temporarily install the crankshaft pulley attaching bolt and turn crankshaft two complete revolutions from TDC to TDC. Always turn the

crankshaft clockwise.

Checking Pulley Alignment

b. Check that each pulley aligns with timing marks.
