1. DRAIN DIFFERENTIAL OIL
2. DISCONNECT REAR PROPELLER SHAFT
2WD: See Propeller Shaft; Service and Repair.
4WD and prerunner: See Propeller Shaft; Service and Repair.
3. REMOVE COMPANION FLANGE
a. Using a chisel and hammer, loosen the staked part of the nut.
