Reseal Housing Cover to Bevel Gear Housing

a.

Apply liquid sealer # 1281 (P/N 00295-01281) to contact surface of gear housing cover.

Notes:

1  Make sure to clean contact surface before applying sealer.

Do not apply sealer
into bolt holes.

Sealer must be applied
evenly.

b.

Install housing cover by five bolts and tighten bolts to specified torque.

Torque:

80 kg-cm (69 in-lb. 7.8 N-m)

c.

Install two dust covers.

6.

Install Steering Bevel Gear Assembly to Vehicle

a.

Connect bevel gear shaft to two universal joints and install but do not tighten the universal joint bolts.

Note:

Make sure to align the cut out portion of bevel gear shaft with universal joint bolt hole.

b.

Install steering bevel gear by three mounting bolts and tighten bolts to specified torque.

Torque:

400 kg-cm (29 ft.lb., 39 N-m)
