Intake Manifold – Lower Part, Remove and
Install
 Remove
Remove injection lines - see operation "Removing and installing
injection lines (X 20 DTL, Y 20 DTL, Y 20 DTH to MY 2003" and
"Removing and installing injection lines (Y 20 DTH as of MY 2003, Y
22 DTR)".

Remove inlet manifold upper section - see operation "Removing
and installing inlet manifold upper section (X 20 DTL, Y 20 DTL, Y
20 DTH up to MY 2003" and "Removing and installing inlet manifold
upper section (Y 20 DTH as of MY 2003, Y 22 DTR)".
Detach vacuum hose (1) from switchover valve vacuum unit. Detach
wiring harness plug bracket for crankshaft pulse pick-up (2) from
lower part of intake manifold. Detach lower part of intake manifold
(3) from cylinder head.
Caution
Ensure that fastening nuts do not fall into the air induction
channels.

 Clean
Clean sealing surfaces and remove gasket residues.
Install
Attach lower part of intake manifold to cylinder head with new
gasket and new fastening nuts – tightening torque 22 Nm / 16
lbf. ft.
Connect wiring harness plug bracket for crankshaft pulse pick-up
to lower part of intake manifold. Attach vacuum hose to switchover
valve vacuum unit.
Install inlet manifold upper section - see operation "Removing
and installing inlet manifold upper section (X 20 DTL, Y 20 DTL, Y
20 DTH up to MY 2003" and "Removing and installing inlet manifold
upper section (Y 20 DTH as of MY 2003, Y 22 DTR)".
Install injection lines - see operation "Removing and installing
injection lines (X 20 DTL, Y 20 DTL, Y 20 DTH to MY 2003" and
"Removing and installing injection lines (Y 20 DTH as of MY 2003, Y
22 DTR)".
