Thermostat (Engine Oil Cooling), Remove and
Install
 Remove

Remove lower engine compartment cover – see operation
"Lower Engine Compartment Cover, Remove and Install" in group
"A".
Remove closure plug (1) from thermostat housing (engine oil
cooling) – collect escaping engine oil.
Remove seal ring (2), spring (3) and thermostat (4) – note
installation position.

Caution
Closure bolt is under pressure.
Install
Install thermostat and spring in thermostat housing (engine oil
cooling) – note installation position.
Attach screw plug with new seal ring to temperature regulator
housing (engine oil cooling) – tightening torque 50 Nm / 37
lbf. ft.
Install lower engine compartment cover – see operation
"Lower Engine Compartment Cover, Remove and Install" in group
"A".
Inspect
Check engine oil level and correct if necessary.
