V-belt, Remove and Install

  Remove

Remove air cleaner housing with air intake hose and hot film mass air flow meter – see illustration "Air Ducts".

For version with AC: Remove ribbed V-belts – see operation "Ribbed V-belts, Remove and Install".

Remove fastening bolts (1) and remove alternator bracket.

Release locking bolt (2) and release V-belt tension at adjusting nut (3).

Remove V-belt.

  Install

Position V-belt on torsional vibration damper and alternator pulley.

Tension V-belt with adjusting nut and secure alternator set screw to tensioner blade – tightening torque 35 Nm / 26 lbf. ft.

Check V-belt tension – see operation "V-belt Tension, Check and Adjust".

Attach alternator bracket to alternator and turbocharger – tightening torque – 18 Nm / 13 lbf. ft.

For version with AC: Install ribbed V-belt – see operation "Ribbed V-belt, Remove and Install".

Install air cleaner housing with air intake hose and hot film mass air flow meter – see illustration "Air Ducts".
