Throttle Valve Potentiometer, Remove and Install
(X 12 XE)
Note: When removing
and installing or replacing the throttle valve potentiometer, it is
essential that the adaptation values for the throttle valve in the
EE PROM of the engine control unit are deleted using TECH 2 –
see corresponding Checking Procedures.
 Remove
Remove air cleaner housing with hot film mass air flow meter and
air intake cover – see illustration "Air Ducts X 12 XE".

Disconnect wiring harness plug (1) from throttle valve
potentiometer.
Remove throttle valve potentiometer (2) from throttle body.

Install
Mount throttle valve potentiometer on throttle body.
Connect wiring harness plug to throttle valve potentiometer.
Install air cleaner housing with hot film mass air flow meter
and air intake cover – see illustration "Air Ducts X 12
XE".
