DIS Ignition Module, X 20 XEV  

The DIS ignition module has already been used in various engines in the past.  

The dual spark ignition coil (DIS = Direct Ignition System) has two primary and two secondary coils.  

The two primary windings are activated and deactivated to ground via the ignition final stages in the engine control unit.  

The secondary windings serve to ignite either cylinder pair 1 and 4 or 2 and 3 simultaneously.
