Transmission Control Unit  

The AF 13-II, AF 17 and AF 20 automatic transmissions feature a new compact-design transmission control unit.  

The transmission control unit (2) for the AF 13-II, AF 17 and AF 20 transmissions is located in the vehicle interior, under the heater core service cover.   A new wiring harness plug with a side catch (1) allows the wiring harness to be rapidly disconnected from the transmission control unit.   • Service   The transmission control units are differently calibrated, depending on the engine and transmission versions. Note the relevant code when replacing the transmission control unit.
