  • Ignition OFF
  • Disconnect wiring harness connector from:
    E124 Mirror Unit - Inside
  • Ignition ON
  • Measure voltage between:
    E124 Mirror Unit - Inside
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 1
    &
    Ground

greater than 11 V

Check: Circuit Interruption of Ground Circuit

  • Measure voltage between:

    E124 Mirror Unit - Inside
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 4
    &
    Ground

Note:

During the model year 2004 the terminal 4 of the wiring harness connector of the component E124 is not used any more.

E001 Result: Defective Component
  • Defective component:
    E124 Mirror Unit - Inside
    or
    X131 Rear Electronic Module

Note:

The replacement of the components must be done in the listed order.

The system must be checked for proper operation after every replacement.

Reset the concerned control unit with the diagnostic tester before replacing it. In order to do that, call up the "RESET" function from the PROGRAMMING menu of the current system on the diagnostic tester.

E002 Result: Interruption
  • Circuit interruption between:
    E124 Mirror Unit - Inside
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 4
    &
    X131 Rear Electronic Module
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 50 (XR5)

Note:

During the model year 2004 the terminal 4 of the wiring harness connector of the component E124 is not used any more.

E003 Result: Short to Ground
  • Short circuit to ground between:
    E124 Mirror Unit - Inside
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 4
    &

Note:
