Replace carpet - complete - L08

  Remove

1.   Disconnect battery
2.   Wait 1 minute for airbag to deactivate
3.   Place seats in the forward-most position
4.   Detach driver's side front seat
•   Unscrew 2x bolt (1)
5.   Detach passenger side front seat
•   Unscrew 2x bolt (1)
6.   Remove driver's side front seat
•   Remove from front guide
•   Release and disconnect compact connector
7.   Remove passenger's side front seat
•   Remove from front guide
•   Release and disconnect compact connector

8.   Detach footwell instrument panel padding left and right
Note:   Only for vehicles with diesel engines.
•   Unscrew 2x screws on driver's side and remove footwell panelling from bracket
•   Unscrew 2x screws on passenger's side and remove footwell panelling from bracket

9.   Detach central console
10.   Remove bench seat
•   Unlock 2x brackets (1) front
•   Hang off 2x bench seat from rear bracket
Push seat simultaneously backwards and upward

11.   Remove rear seat backrest
•   Unscrew 3x bolts at the front
Remove 3x belt buckles
•   Fold down rear seat backrest
•   Unscrew 3x bolts at the back

12.   Remove rear seat backrest
•   Remove rear seat backrest from side guide
Note:   2nd mechanic required

13.   Remove sill inner panelling - both sides
•   Unclip 5x clips (1)
Object Number: 8125804  Size: DEFAULT


14.   Remove upper B-pillar moulding - both sides
•   Pull out the plastic rivet (1) from the B-pillar
Prise off with plastic wedge
•   Unscrew seat belt bolts (3) from B-pillar
Unclip cap (2)
•   Remove upper B-pillar panelling upwards

15.   Remove rear quarter panel inner panelling - both sides
•   Unscrew lower belt fastening (3)
Remove lower belt shackle (4)
Remove belt with striker
Remove belt striker guide bushing (5) from rear quarter panel front
•   Remove rear quarter panel cover cap (2)
Unscrew bolt
•   Unscrew bolt (6) from rear seat backrest
•   Unscrew bolt (1) from upper B-pillar
•   Unclip front rear quarter panel
Unclip 8x clips (7)

16.   Remove airbag control unit
•   Unscrew 3x nuts (1) and remove control unit
•   Release 2x wiring harness plugs and disconnect

17.   Remove yaw sensor (1)
•   Unscrew 2x nuts (arrows)
•   Disconnect wiring harness plug (2)

18.   Remove bracket from diagnostics plug (1)
•   Unclip clip
•   Unscrew 3 nuts (2)
•   Remove bracket

19.   Loosen cable duct (1)
•   Detach earthing strap
Unscrew nut (3)
•   Disconnect 2x wiring harness plugs (2)

20.   Remove heating duct

21.   Remove instrument panel padding bracket - both sides
•   Unscrew 6x bolt

Object Number: 8326666  Size: DEFAULT

22.   Remove carpet
•   Open quick release fastener (1)
•   Unclip wiring harness clip (2)
23.   Remove carpet beginning from rear
Note:   2nd mechanic required.

  Install

24.   Lay carpet beginning at the front
Note:   A second mechanic is required
25.   Insert carpet
•   Close quick release fastener
•   Clip in wiring harness clip
26.   Attach instrument panel padding bracket - both sides
•   Tighten 6x bolts
27.   Install heating duct
28.   Fasten cable duct
•   Connect 2x wiring harness plugs
•   Attach earthing strap
Tighten nut
29.   Install diagnostics plug bracket
•   Install bracket
•   Tighten 3x nut
•   Clip in clip
30.   Install yaw sensor
•   Tighten 2x nuts
•   Connect wiring harness plug
31.   Install airbag control unit
•   Connect and lock 2x wiring harness plug
•   Tighten 3x nuts 10 Nm
32.   Attach footwell instrument panel padding left and right
Note:   Only for vehicles with diesel engines.
•   Insert footwell panelling in bracket and screw in 2x screws on driver's side
•   Insert footwell panelling in bracket and screw in 2x screws on passenger's side
33.   Install rear quarter panel inner panelling - both sides
•   Clip in 8x rear quarter panel clips
•   Tighten bolt on upper B-pillar
•   Tighten bolt to rear seat backrest
•   Tighten lower B-pillar bolt
Install rear quarter panel cover cap front
Install belt striker guide bushing to rear quarter panel front
Install belt with striker
Install lower belt striker
Tighten lower belt fastening 35 Nm
34.   Attach upper B-pillar panelling - both sides
•   Guide B-pillar panelling from above in inner panelling guide front of rear quarter panel
•   Clip in upper B-pillar panelling
Press in expanding bolt
•   Tighten seat belt bolt to B-pillar
Clip in cover cap
35.   Install sill inner panelling - both sides
•   Clip in 5x clips
36.   Insert rear seat backrest
•   Insert rear seat backrest into side guide
Note:   2nd mechanic required
37.   Install rear seat backrest
•   Tighten 3x rear bolts
•   Fold down rear seat backrest
•   Tighten front 3x bolts to belt buckle 20 Nm
Note:   Use screw locking compound
38.   Install bench seat
•   Hang up 2x seats in the rear bracket
Push seat simultaneously backwards and down
•   Bolt 2x brackets front
39.   Install centre console
40.   Insert driver's side front seat
•   Connect and latch compact connector
•   Insert seat in front guide
41.   Fasten driver's side front seat
•   Tighten 2x bolt 35 Nm
Note:   Use screw locking compound
42.   Insert front seat - passenger side
•   Connect and latch compact connector
•   Insert seat in front guide
43.   Fasten passenger side - front seat
•   Tighten 2x bolt 35 Nm
Note:   Use screw locking compound
44.   Connect battery
45.   Program volatile memories
