Remove and install adjuster handle of the front seat driving fitting > < Replace front seat backrest upholstery covering - L08 / L35 / L48 / L67 / L69 / L70

Height Adjustment for Front Seat, Replace

  Remove

1.   Disconnect battery
Note:   Wait 1 minute for airbag to deactivate
2.   Place seat in the most forward position
3.   Detach front seat belt securing panel (1)
4.   Detach seat belt from front seat
•   Unscrew bolt (2)

5.   Detach driver's seat, rear
•   Unscrew 2x bolt (1)
6.   Remove front seat
Note:   Disconnect wiring harness plug.
•   Remove from the front guide

7.   Detach height adjuster panel
•   Unclip with a plastic wedge
8.   Detach height adjuster
•   Unscrew 2x bolt (1) and remove lever

9.   Remove rear seat backrest aduster wheel
•   Unclip with a plastic wedge

10.   Detach outer panelling
•   Unscrew 2x bolt (1, 3)
•   Remove front of panelling from guide (2)

11.   Remove interior panelling
•   Unscrew bolt (1)
•   Remove panelling

12.   Remove central wiring harness plug for seat in vehicles with heated seats
•   Unclip connection
13.   Uncover wiring harness for seat heating, if fitted
•   Disconnect and uncover wiring harness plug (arrows)
•   Detach 3x cable tie (1)

14.   Detach belt buckle tensioner
•   Unscrew bolt (1) and remove belt buckle tensioner from bracket

15.   Remove front seat backrest
•   Unscrew 4x bolt (1, 2)
– Remove front seat backrest

16.   Detach seat height adjuster
•   Unscrew 4x bolt

  Install

17.   Attach seat height adjuster
•   Tighten 4x bolt
18.   Install front seat backrest
•   Tighten 4x bolt
19.   Install belt buckle tensioner
•   Insert belt buckle tensioner in bracket and tighten bolt 35 Nm
Note:   Use screw locking compound

Note:   For vehicles with seat heating:
•   Install wiring harness in seat cushion frame guide
– Clip in 2x clips
•   Lay wiring harness in central wiring harness plug
– Clip in 3x wiring harness in central harness plug
– Insert wiring harness into grooved tube
– Install 3x cable ties
– Unclip panelling
21.   Install interior panelling
•   Insert panelling
•   Tighten the bolt
22.   Install exterior panelling
•   Insert panelling
•   Tighten 2x bolts
23.   Install rear seat backrest aduster wheel
•   Clip in adjusting wheel
24.   Install height adjuster
•   Tighten 2x bolts
25.   Install height adjuster panel
•   Clip in panel
26.   Install front seat
•   Connect wiring harness plug
•   Insert into front guide
27.   Attach front seat, rear
•   Tighten 2x bolt 35 Nm
28.   Attach front seat seat belt
•   Tighten bolt 20 Nm
Note:   Use screw locking compound
29.   Insert front seat belt securing panel
•   Place front seat in original position
30.   Connect battery
31.   Program volatile memories
