Replace front seat upholstery covering – L08 / L35 / L48 / L67 / L69 / L70

  Remove

1.   Disconnect battery
Note:   Wait 1 minute for airbag to deactivate
2.   Detach front seat belt securing panel (1)
3.   Detach seat belt from front seat
•   Unscrew bolt (2)

4.   Place seat in the most forward position
5.   Detach driver's seat, rear
•   Unscrew 2x bolt (1)
6.   Remove front seat
Note:   Disconnect wiring harness plug.
•   Remove from the front guide

7.   Partly detach front seat backrest panelling
•   Detach panelling all round (I)
•   Release 2x clamp (II)

8.   Detach side airbag
•   Unscrew 3x bolt (1)
9.   Remove side airbag
•   Release and disconnect wiring harness plug

10.   Uncover airbag cable harness
11.   Detach height adjuster panel
•   Unclip with a plastic wedge
12.   Detach height adjuster
•   Unscrew 2x bolt (1) and remove lever

13.   Remove rear seat backrest aduster wheel
•   Unclip with a plastic wedge
14.   Detach outer panelling
•   Unscrew 2x bolt (1, 3)
•   Remove front of panelling from guide (2)

15.   Remove interior panelling
•   Unscrew bolt (1)
•   Remove panelling

16.   Remove central wiring harness plug for seat in vehicles with heated seats
•   Unclip connection
17.   Uncover wiring harness for seat heating, if fitted
•   Disconnect and uncover wiring harness plug (arrows)
– Detach 3x cable tie (1)

18.   Remove front seat backrest
•   Unscrew 4x bolt (1, 2)
– Remove front seat backrest

19.   Remove upholstery covering
•   Detach upholstery covering from seat frame all the way round (arrows)
•   Detach 16x upholstery clamps
•   Remove upholstery covering
Object Number: 7360991 Size: DEFAULT


  Install

20.   Attach upholstery covering
•   Position upholstery covering
•   Attach 16x upholstery clamps
•   Fasten upholstery covering to seat frame all the way round
21.   Install front seat backrest
•   Tighten 4x bolts 35 Nm
22.   Lay wiring harness for seat heating, if fitted
•   Fix with 4x cable tie
23.   Lay airbag cable harness
24.   Install central wiring harness plug for seat
•   Clip in plug
25.   Install interior panelling
•   Insert panelling
•   Tighten the bolt
26.   Install exterior panelling
•   Insert panelling
•   Tighten 2x bolts
27.   Install rear seat backrest aduster wheel
•   Clip in adjusting wheel
28.   Install height adjuster
•   Tighten 2x bolts
29.   Install height adjuster panel
•   Clip in panel
30.   Insert side airbag
•   Connect and latch wiring harness plug
Note:   Ensure correct wiring harness routing
31.   Fasten side airbag
•   Tighten 3x bolt 5 Nm
32.   Fasten front seat backrest panelling
•   Refit 2x clamp
•   Fasten panelling all round
33.   Install front seat
Note:   Connect wiring harness plug
•   Insert into front guide
34.   Attach front seat, rear
•   Tighten 2x bolt 35 Nm
35.   Return seat to its original position
36.   Attach seat belt at front seat
•   Tighten bolt 20 Nm
37.   Attach seat belt fastening panel
38.   Connect battery
39.   Program volatile memories
