Replace rear seat backrest upholstery covering - left side (L69)

  Remove

1.   Left rear seat backrest upholstery covering

2.   Remove rear seat cushion •   Fold down rear seat cushion •   2x detach rear seat cushion from bracket

3.   Detach rear seat backrest •   Unscrew 3x bolts at the front – Remove 3x belt buckles •   Fold down rear seat backrest •   Unscrew 2x bolts at the back •   2x remove from guide at side 4.   Remove rear seat backrest assembly Note:   2nd mechanic required. 5.   Clean thread •   Re-cut 5x threads

6.   Detach rear seat backrest •   Unscrew 2x bolt (1) 7.   Clean thread •   Re-cut 2x threads

9.   Detach service hatch frame •   Unclip upper part •   Remove frame (arrow)

10.   Detach rear seat backrest cover •   Remove 8x clips (arrows)

11.   Detach left bracket •   Unscrew 2x bolt (1) 12.   Detach right bracket •   Unscrew bolt (2) 13.   Clean thread •   Re-cut 3x threads

14.   Remove head restraint guide sleeve (1) Note:   Position I shows the lug to the right of the head restraint guide sleeve which must be pushed in for removal •   Push guide sleeve (1) upwards with a suitable tool (e.g. pointed pliers ) and compress both lugs (2) upwards with a screwdriver at the same time •   Pull guide sleeves upwards off rear seat backrest

15.   Detach belt panel (1) •   Unclip and remove panel upwards (2)

16.   Detach upholstery covering all the way round 17.   Remove upholstery covering with pad •   Unthread belt •   Detach upholstery covering at service hatch

18.   Remove upholstery covering •   Detach 19x clamps at rear seat •   Detach 11x clamps at front seat – Remove upholstery covering – Completely remove upholstery clamps
