Moulded Headlining for Sunroof, Replace - L48

  Remove

1.   Disconnect battery
2.   Unhook load compartment cover
3.   Detach A-pillar inner panelling - both sides
•   Unclip panel (1)
•   Unclip clip
•   Remove inner panelling A-pillar

4.   Detach front seat belt securing panel (1)
•   Unclip and remove panel upwards (arrow)
5.   Detach seat belt from front seat
•   Unscrew bolt (2)

6.   Detach B-pillar inner panelling - both sides
•   Unclip panel (1)
•   Loosen upper B-pillar panel in lower area (2) and remove upper B-pillar panel
– Unclip 6x clips
•   Remove B inner panelling

7.   Detach upper C-pillar inner panelling - both sides LUREF_1.gif

8.   Remove glasses pocket moulded headlining
•   Open panel (arrow)
•   Unscrew 2x bolt

9.   Detach sun visor - both sides
•   Unscrew 2x bolt
•   Disconnect wiring harness plug.
•   Unclip sun visor from support and remove

10.   Detach sun visor support - both sides
•   Prise out main bracket wedge and remove main bracket
Note:   Spring of main bracket is not secured and may fall down

11.   Remove 3x handles in moulded headlining
•   Open panel (arrow)
•   Unscrew 2x bolt

12.   Remove rear interior lamp
•   Unclip interior light with plastic wedge
•   Disconnect wiring harness plug.
13.   Detach sunroof operating unit and interior light
•   Disconnect 2x wiring harness plug
•   Unscrew 2x bolt

14.   Detach moulded headlining piping
15.   Loosen and remove surrounding moulded headlining
Note:   2nd mechanic required.
•   Unclip in area of sunroof
•   Disconnect 2x wiring harness plug

  Install

16.   Insert moulded headlining
Note:   2nd mechanic required.
•   Clip on in area of sunroof
•   Connect 2x wiring harness plugs
17.   Fasten moulded headlining all the way round
•   Place moulded headlining in door rubber strip weatherstrip
18.   Fasten sunroof operating unit and interior light
•   Clip in interior light
•   Connect 2x wiring harness plugs
•   Tighten 2x bolts
19.   Install 3x moulded headlining handles at rear
•   Tighten 2x bolts 1.5 Nm
•   Close panel
20.   Install glasses pocket moulded headlining
•   Tighten 2x bolts 1.5 Nm
•   Close panel
21.   Attach sun visor support - both sides
•   Install wedge with groove downwards
22.   Attach sun visor - both sides
•   Connect wiring harness plug
•   Clip sun visor into main bracket
•   Tighten 2x bolts 1.5 Nm
23.   Attach upper C-pillar inner panelling - both sides LUREF_1.gif
24.   Attach B-pillar inner panelling - both sides
•   Place B-pillar inner panelling, clip in upper B-pillar panelling in lower B-pillar panelling
•   Clip in 6x clips
•   Clip in panel
25.   Attach seat belt to front seat - both sides
•   Tighten bolt 20 Nm
– Re-cut thread
– Use screw locking compound
26.   Attach front seatbelt securing panel - both sides
•   Clip in panel
27.   Attach A-pillar inner panelling - both sides
•   Place inner panelling A-pillar
•   Clip in panel
•   Clip in clip
28.   Clip in load compartment cover
29.   Place the front seat in the original position
30.   Connect battery
31.   Program volatile memories
