Work Order Description

T001

Check: Short to Ground of Signal Circuit

  • Engine idling
  • Rear window heating OFF

Rear window heating light emitting diode (LED) OFF

Yes: No:
T002

Check: Interruption of Voltage Supply Circuit

  • Ignition OFF
  • Disconnect wiring harness connector from:
    A1_A60 Controls - Heating/Air Conditioning
    (Wiring Harness Connector XC40 )
  • Ignition ON
  • Measure voltage between the following terminals:
    A1_A60 Controls - Heating/Air Conditioning
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 6 (XC40)
    &
    Ground

greater than 11 V

Voltage Measurement Current Value: V
Yes: No:
T003

Check: Circuit Interruption of Ground Circuit

  • Measure voltage between the following terminals:
    A1_A60 Controls - Heating/Air Conditioning
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 6 (XC40)
    &
    A1_A60 Controls - Heating/Air Conditioning
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 23 (XC40)

greater than 11 V

Check: Short to Voltage/Interruption of Signal Circuit

  • Ignition OFF
  • Disconnect wiring harness connector from:
    P3 Instrument
  • Connect wiring harness connector to:
    A1_A60 Controls - Heating/Air Conditioning
  • Ignition ON
  • Connect fused jumper wire to:
    P3 Instrument
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 6
    &
    Ground

Rear window heating light emitting diode (LED) ON

Yes: No:
T005

Check: Short to Voltage of Signal Circuit

  • Remove fused jumper wire
  • Check the following component for proper operation:
    Fuse of the fused jumper wire

Test okay?

Yes: No:

Check: Vehicle Configuration

Is the following information correct for the actual vehicle?

Vehicle with REC (Rear Electronic Module)

Check: Short to Ground of Signal Circuit

  • Ignition OFF
  • Disconnect wiring harness connector from:
    P3 Instrument
  • Ignition ON

Rear window heating light emitting diode (LED) OFF

Yes: No:

  • Defective component:
    P3 Instrument

Important:

Reset the concerned control unit with the diagnostic tester before replacing it. In order to do that, call up the "RESET" function from the PROGRAMMING menu of the current system on the diagnostic tester.

E002 Result: Interruption
  • Circuit interruption between:
    A1_A60 Controls - Heating/Air Conditioning
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 13 (XC40)
    &
    P3 Instrument
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 6

or

  • Defective component:
    A1_A60 Controls - Heating/Air Conditioning

Important:
