Yes: No:
T002

Check: Refrigerant Circuit

Note:

Do not check the air conditioning system in immediate vicinity of walls (Distance approximately 2 m ), in order to guarantee a sufficient air circulation at the condenser.

  • Connect service station to the air conditioning system
  • Engine idling
  • Set desired temperature passenger compartment to COLD
    (counter-clock wise to stop)
  • Blower stage 4 selected
  • Air conditioning system switch ON
  • Read high pressure gauge

Air conditioning system pressure is greater than 1300 kPa ( 13 bar )

Yes: No:
T003

Check: Adjacent System

  • Is at least one cooling fan running?

Yes: No:
T004

Check: Refrigerant Circuit

Note:

Before discharging the air conditioning system, check refrigerant circuit for leakage.

Especially the connection to the expansion valve has to be checked.

  • Ignition OFF
  • Discharge, evacuate and fill air conditioning system with correct refrigerant charge
  • After successful test/fault repair proceed to the next test step

Check: Refrigerant Circuit

Note:

Do not check the air conditioning system in immediate vicinity of walls (Distance approximately 2 m ), in order to guarantee a sufficient air circulation at the condenser.

  • Engine running for 15 min with engine hood closed
  • Air conditioning system switch ON
  • Set desired temperature passenger compartment to COLD
    (counter-clock wise to stop)
  • Set air distribution control to head area ventilation
  • Fresh air switch ON
  • Increase engine speed to 1500 rpm for 5 min
  • Read high pressure gauge

Air conditioning system pressure is in the range from 900 kPa ( 9 bar ) and 2800 kPa ( 28 bar )

Yes: No:
T007

Check: Refrigerant Circuit

  • Read low pressure gauge

Air conditioning system pressure is in the range from 170 kPa ( 1.7 bar ) and 220 kPa ( 2.2 bar )

Yes: No:
T008

Check: Refrigerant Circuit

Note:

Do not check the air conditioning system in immediate vicinity of walls (Distance approximately 2 m ), in order to guarantee a sufficient air circulation at the condenser.

  • "Air conditioning" is selected in the main menu
  • Desired temperature LO selected
  • Set air distribution control to compartment vents
  • Circulating air function OFF
  • All air vents completely open
  • Engine running for 15 min with engine hood closed
  • Increase engine speed to 1500 rpm for 5 min
  • Read high pressure gauge

Air conditioning system pressure is in the range from 900 kPa ( 9 bar ) and 2800 kPa ( 28 bar )
