Work Order Description

Nominal Value

Check: Short to Voltage/Ground/Interruption of Signal Circuit

• Ignition OFF
• Disconnect wiring harness connector from:
  B2_A14 Sensor - Outlet Air Ventilation
• Ignition ON
• Measure voltage between the following terminals:
  B2_A14 Sensor - Outlet Air Ventilation
  Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal A
  &
  Ground

4.8 ... 5.2 V

Check: Component

• Select the following Functional System on the diagnostic tester:
  ECC/SAC (Electronic Climate Control)
• Diagnostic Tester Data List Parameter
  Interior Air Outlet Temperature

greater than 4.8 V

Check: Short to Voltage/Interruption of Signal Circuit

• Ignition OFF
• Connect fused jumper wire to:
  B2_A14 Sensor - Outlet Air Ventilation
  Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal A
  &
  B2_A14 Sensor - Outlet Air Ventilation
  Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal B
• Ignition ON
• Diagnostic Tester Data List Parameter
  Interior Air Outlet Temperature

less than 0.3 V

Check: Short to Voltage/Ground/Interruption of Signal Circuit

• Ignition OFF
• Disconnect wiring harness connector from:
  B2_A14 Sensor - Outlet Air Ventilation
• Ignition ON
• Measure voltage between the following terminals:
  B2_A14 Sensor - Outlet Air Ventilation
  Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal A
  &
  Ground

greater than 5.2 V

Result

Cause Of Fault

• Defective component:
  B2_A14 Sensor - Outlet Air Ventilation

• Circuit interruption between:
  A1_A14 Control Unit - Climate Control
  Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 23 (XC43)
  &
  B2_A14 Sensor - Outlet Air Ventilation
  Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal B

or

• Defective component:
  A1_A14 Control Unit - Climate Control

Important:

Reset the concerned control unit with the diagnostic tester before replacing it. In order to do that, call up the "RESET" function from the PROGRAMMING menu of the current system on the diagnostic tester.

• Short circuit to voltage between:
  A1_A14 Control Unit - Climate Control
  Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 24 (XC43)
  &
  B2_A14 Sensor - Outlet Air Ventilation
  Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal A

or

• Defective component:
  A1_A14 Control Unit - Climate Control

Important:

  A1_A14 Control Unit - Climate Control

Important:
