Replace rear springs and/or rear spring damping
rings
Note: Only replace
springs in pairs. When replacing the springs, the springs which
correspond to the vehicle version and equipment level available
from Aftersales must be used.
When lifting at the jacking points on the vehicle, take care that
all rear axle bolts and the contact points for the centring device
remain accessible.
Remove

Position Hydraulic Jack, KM-904 and
KM-6002-A (1) under rear axle
Note: Ensure that the
vehicle does not lift from the lifting platform attachment
points.

Detach shock absorbers (2) at both sides of rear axle
|
4. |
Remove springs
• |
Carefully lower hydraulic jack until rear axle is freely
suspended and spring is relieved
|
• |
Push rear axle down a little
Note: Ensure that the
brake pressure hoses are not stretched.
|
• |
Remove 2x springs with damping rings at top and bottom
Note: Note installation
position of damping rings.
|
• |
Detach 4x damping rings from springs
|
|
|
|
Install

Install springs
• |
Insert upper (1) and lower (2) damping rings in springs
Note: Ensure that they
are seated correctly.

Insert 2x springs in rear axle and vehicle underbody spring
mounts
|
|
6. |
Attach shock absorbers (3) to rear axle at both sides

Raise rear axle using hydraulic jack until shock absorber
fastening holes are aligned
Note: Ensure that the
vehicle does not lift from the lifting platform attachment
points.

Screw in 2x bolt 130 Nm
|
|
7. |
Lower hydraulic jack and remove
|
8. |
Fit rear wheels 110 Nm
|
|
|
|
