Chassis Alignment

The following points must be noted before chassis alignment:

  • Use of prescribed disc wheels and tyre sizes
  • Perfect condition of the disc wheels and the wheel bearing units.
  • Tyre tread uniform and in good condition.
  • Correct tyre inflation pressure on each axle, left and right identical - values see the respective Owner's Manual for the vehicle or the "Inspection System" or "Inspection System/Service Plan" brochure applicable to the model year.
  • No visible damage to chassis (no play in track rods and ball joints, chassis suspension).
  • Regulations and instructions issued by chassis alignment system manufacturer.

The following operations must be performed before chassis alignment:

  • Half fill fuel tank.
  • Put vehicle into alignment position.
  • Load both front seats with 70 kg.
  • Put steering in straight ahead position.
  • Push down on vehicle suspension several times to enable the suspension to adopt its starting position.

Determine "actual values" using computer-aided chassis alignment system

Note:   The computer-aided chassis alignment system manufacturer's user instructions and other instructions must be followed.
