Check: Interruption of Voltage Supply Circuit

Ignition OFF
All consumers turned off
Disconnect wiring harness connector from:
A165 Control Unit - Open & Start
&
Diagnostic tester
Ignition ON
Measure voltage between the following terminals:
A165 Control Unit - Open & Start
Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 18
&
Ground

greater than 11 V

Voltage Measurement

Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 20

Ignition OFF
Remove electrical component from socket:
FE16 Fuse
Ignition ON
Measure voltage between the following terminals:
FE16 Fuse
Input contact

Ground

Result	Cause Of Fault
E001	Result: Interruption
	Circuit interruption between: A165 Control Unit - Open & Start Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 7 & X131 Rear Electronic Module Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 31 (XR5) or Defective component: A165 Control Unit - Open & Start or X131 Rear Electronic Module Important: Reset the concerned control unit with the diagnostic tester before replacing it. In order to do that, call up the "RESET" function from the PROGRAMMING menu of the current system on the diagnostic tester. Note: The replacement of the components must be done in the listed order. The system must be checked for proper operation after every replacement.

E002	Result: Interruption
	Circuit interruption between: A165 Control Unit - Open & Start Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 20 & Ground

E003	Result: Interruption
	Circuit interruption between: X125 Underhood Electronic Module Socket Terminal 9 (XE2) & A165 Control Unit - Open & Start Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 18

E004	Result: Interruption
	Circuit interruption between: FE16 Fuse Input contact & G1 Battery Terminal 30 or Defective component: X125 Underhood Electronic Module Important: Reset the concerned control unit with the diagnostic tester before replacing it. In order to do that, call up the "RESET" function from the PROGRAMMING menu of the current system on the diagnostic tester.
