Result

Cause Of Fault

E001 Result: System Overload
  • A temporary current overload in the system behind fuse FB6 has occurred

Note:

In case of a temporary current overload, the cause for the blow of the fuse may be located in a circuit behind the control unit/component.

These circuits should be checked additionally for short to ground.

E002 Result: Defective Component
  • Defective component:
K3_X131 Relay - Heated Back Window
    or
    K2_X131 Relay - Terminal 15a
    or
    K1_X131 Relay - Terminal 15

Note:

The replacement of the components must be done in the listed order.

The system must be checked for proper operation after every replacement.

E003 Result: Defective Component
  • Defective component:
    X131 Rear Electronic Module

Important:

Reset the concerned control unit with the diagnostic tester before replacing it. In order to do that, call up the "RESET" function from the PROGRAMMING menu of the current system on the diagnostic tester.

E004 Result: Defective Component
  • If the nominal value is reached during one of the measurements, the component/control unit that has been disconnected immediately before that measurement is defective.

Note:

If the defective component is a switching device (e.g. switch or relay) or a fuse, the cause for the fault may be located in the circuit behind that component.
In case of a switching device, the corresponding part of the circuit should be checked for short to ground/voltage before replacing the component.

E005 Result: Short to Ground
  • Short circuit to ground between:
    FB5 Fuse
    Output contact
    &
    X131 Rear Electronic Module
Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 2 (XR6)
E006 Result: Short to Ground
  • Short circuit to ground between:
    FB6 Fuse
    Output contact
    &
    X131 Rear Electronic Module
Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 1 (XR6)
E007 Result: System Overload
  • A temporary current overload in the system behind fuse FB6 has occurred
E008 Result: Short to Ground
  • Short circuit to ground between:
    FB6 Fuse
    Output contact
    &
    F54 Fuse
    Input contact
    &
Concerned terminals of all wiring harness connectors, which are connected with the corresponding lead.
