Check: Transition Resistance of Voltage Supply Circuit

  • Ignition OFF
  • Disconnect wiring harness connector from:
    A75 Assembly - Electrical Power Steering
  • Connect test lamp ( 55 W ) and multimeter in parallel and measure voltage between the following terminals:
    A75 Assembly - Electrical Power Steering
    Wiring harness connector colour RD
    &
    Ground

Note:

Wiring colours: BK=Black, BN=Brown, BU=Blue, GD=Gold, GN=Green, GY=Grey, OG=Orange, PK=Pink, RD=Red, SR=Silver, TQ=Turquoise, VT=Violet, WH=White, YE=Yellow,
L=Light, D=Dark

Check: Transition Resistance of Voltage Supply Circuit

  • Connect test lamp ( 55 W ) and multimeter in parallel and measure voltage between the following terminals:
    A75 Assembly - Electrical Power Steering
    Wiring harness connector colour RD
    &
    A75 Assembly - Electrical Power Steering
    Wiring harness connector colour BN

Check: Circuit Interruption of Ground Circuit

  • Check the following functional group for proper operation:
    Ground connection of the control unit case
    and
    Check if all ground connections are clean, tight and installed properly

Yes: No:

Check: Transition Resistance of Voltage Supply Circuit

  • Ignition ON
  • Connect test lamp ( 21 W ) and multimeter in parallel and measure voltage between the following terminals:
    A75 Assembly - Electrical Power Steering
    Wiring harness connector colour BK
    &
    Ground

Wiring colours: BK=Black, BN=Brown, BU=Blue, GD=Gold, GN=Green, GY=Grey, OG=Orange, PK=Pink, RD=Red, SR=Silver, TQ=Turquoise, VT=Violet, WH=White, YE=Yellow,

  • Engine running
    Increase engine speed to 3000 rpm
    Connect test lamp ( 55 W ) and multimeter in parallel and measure voltage between the following terminals:
    A75 Assembly - Electrical Power Steering
    Wiring harness connector colour RD
    &
    Ground

  • Ignition ON
  • Connect test lamp ( 21 W ) and multimeter in parallel and measure voltage between the following terminals:
    (Vehicle with REC (Rear Electronic Module)) FE27 (Vehicle without REC (Rear Electronic Module)) FE29 Fuse
    Input contact
    &
    Ground
(Vehicle with REC (Rear Electronic Module))

Check: Transition Resistance of Voltage Supply Circuit

  • Ignition OFF
  • Remove electrical component from socket:
    K3_X125 Relay - Terminal 15
  • Ignition ON
  • Connect test lamp ( 21 W ) and multimeter in parallel and measure voltage between the following terminals:
    K3_X125 Relay - Terminal 15
    Socket Terminal 30
    &
    Ground

E001 Result: Defective Component
  • Defective component:
    A75 Assembly - Electrical Power Steering

Important:

Reset the concerned control unit with the diagnostic tester before replacing it. In order to do that, call up the "RESET" function from the PROGRAMMING menu of the current system on the diagnostic tester.

E002 Result: Defective Component
  • Defective component:
    G8 Alternator
E003 Result: High Transition Resistance
  • High transition resistance between:
    X125 Underhood Electronic Module
    Socket Terminal (Vehicle with REC (Rear Electronic Module)) 40 (XE2) (Vehicle without REC (Rear Electronic Module)) 23 (XE3)
    &
    A75 Assembly - Electrical Power Steering
    Wiring harness connector colour RD

or

  • Defective component:
    X125 Underhood Electronic Module

Important:

Reset the concerned control unit with the diagnostic tester before replacing it. In order to do that, call up the "RESET" function from the PROGRAMMING menu of the current system on the diagnostic tester.

  • Defective component:
    K3_X125 Relay - Terminal 15
    or
    X125 Underhood Electronic Module

Important:

Reset the concerned control unit with the diagnostic tester before replacing it. In order to do that, call up the "RESET" function from the PROGRAMMING menu of the current system on the diagnostic tester.

Note:

The replacement of the components must be done in the listed order.

The system must be checked for proper operation after every replacement.

E005 Result: High Transition Resistance
  • High transition resistance between:
    G1 Battery
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 30
    &
    X125 Underhood Electronic Module

or

  • Defective component:
    X125 Underhood Electronic Module

Important:

Reset the concerned control unit with the diagnostic tester before replacing it. In order to do that, call up the "RESET" function from the PROGRAMMING menu of the current system on the diagnostic tester.

E006 Result: Interruption
  • Defective component:
    Ground connection of the control unit case
E007 Result: High Transition Resistance
  • High transition resistance between:
    A75 Assembly - Electrical Power Steering
    Wiring harness connector colour BN
