Vacuum Hose > < Technical Data - Brake Master Cylinder

Wheel Brake Cylinder, Remove and Install

Note:   Repair or overhaul of wheel brake cylinder is not envisaged for the time being.

  Remove

1.   Top up brake fluid reservoir to "MAX" marking and seal with MKM-558-10
2.   Detach rear wheel
3.   Remove brake shoes
4.   Unscrew brake line (2)
Note:   Collect escaping brake fluid and seal apertures.
5.   Detach wheel brake cylinder
•   Unscrew bolt (1)
6.   Check brake shoes
Note:   Brake shoes contaminated with brake fluid must be replaced.

  Install

7.   Clean brake anchor plate and brake drum
8.   Attach wheel brake cylinder to brake anchor plate 9 Nm
9.   Attach brake line to wheel brake cylinder 16 Nm
10.   Install brake shoes
11.   Remove MKM-558-10 from brake fluid reservoir
12.   Bleed brake system and check for leaks LUREF_1.gif
13.   Correct brake fluid level so that it reaches the mark "MAX".
14.   Fit rear wheel 110 Nm
