Brake Pedal, Replace (RHD)

  Remove

1.   Remove casing of steering column support tube at the top
•   Unscrew 2x bolt
•   Unclip 2x from instrument panel
2.   Remove casing of steering column support tube at the bottom
•   Unscrew 3x bolt
3.   Release light switch centre
Note:   To release the light switch centre, press in the rotary switch (1) to position "0", bring pressed-in rotary switch to the central position (3), light switch centre (2) has been released.

4.   Draw out light switch centre
5.   Disconnect wiring harness plug for light switch centre
•   Disconnect wiring harness plug
– Press down secondary fuse (2)
– Release fuse (1)

6.   Remove panelling of lower instrument panel padding
•   Unscrew 4 x screws
•   Remove panelling of lower instrument panel padding downwards
7.   Remove driver's side footwell panelling
•   Detach 2x clip
8.   Remove air duct, driver's side footwell
•   Remove expanding rivet
9.   Detach wiring harness
•   Disconnect wiring harness plug for brake light switch
•   Unclip bracket
•   Disconnect wiring harness plug, pedal sensor
10.   Remove pedal bolt from brake pedal
•   Detach retaining spring
•   Remove pedal bolt
11.   Remove damping block
12.   Remove brake pedal with bearing block
•   Unscrew 6x nut (1)

13.   Detach brake light switch from mounting

  Install

14.   Install brake light switch in mounting
15.   Install brake pedal with bearing block 20 Nm
•   Tighten 6x nut
16.   Insert damping block
17.   Install pedal bolt for brake pedal
•   Insert pedal bolt
•   Attach retaining spring
18.   Attach wiring harness
•   Connect wiring harness plug to pedal sensor
•   Clip bracket in
•   Connect wiring harness plug, brake light switch
19.   Install air guide, driver's side footwell
•   Install expanding rivet
20.   Install driver's side footwell panelling
•   Lock 2x retaining clip
21.   Install lower instrument panel padding
•   Install in mounting
•   Tighten 4x bolt
22.   Install light switch centre
•   Connect wiring harness plug
•   Insert light switch centre
•   Lock switch to the left
23.   Install casing for steering column support tube at the bottom
•   Tighten 3x bolt
•   Clip in ignition switch panel
24.   Install casing for steering column support tube at the top
•   2x clip upper steering column support tube panelling in combined instrument panel
•   Screw in 2x bolt
