Removing and installing camshaft
Remove
1. |
Remove camshaft sprocket
|
2. |
Detach vacuum line
• |
Detach 2x vacuum hose from vacuum line
|
• |
Unscrew 2x bolts (arrows)
|
|
|
|
3. |
Detach 2x hose (1) from cylinder housing cover
|
|
|
4. |
Remove vacuum pump (1)
• |
Detach vacuum line
– |
Disconnect quick-release fitting
|
|
|
|
|
5. |
Remove cylinder head cover
• |
Unscrew 7x bolt (arrows) in a spiral from the outside
inward
|
|
|
|
6. |
Turn crankshaft approx. 90° against direction of engine
rotation
|
7. |
Remove camshaft (2)
• |
Unscrew 12x bolts (1)
Note: Loosen bearing
cover in stages, 1/2 - 1 turn from outside. Camshaft must detach
itself evenly from bearing seat
|
• |
Remove 5x camshaft bearing covers
Note: Observe correct
assignment.

|
Remove

Install camshaft
• |
Fit 5x camshaft bearing covers
|
Important: Observe correct
assignment.
|
• |
Insert bearing covers 1 and 5 with surface sealing compound
(green)
|
• |
Tighten 12x bolt 15 Nm
Note: Tighten in
stages, working in a spiral from the inside out
|
|

Install camshaft seal ring (1) with EN-46793 (2)
• |
Drive seal ring in flush
|
|
|
|
11. |
Clean sealing surface
|
12. |
Install cylinder head cover
• |
Tighten 7x bolt in a spiral from the inside outward 10 Nm
|
|
13. |
Clean sealing surface
|
14. |
Install vacuum pump
Important: Connection must
audibly engage
|
• |
Attach vacuum line
– |
Connect quick release fitting
|
|
|
15. |
Attach 2x hose to cylinder head cover
|
16. |
Install vacuum line
• |
Attach 2x vacuum hose to vacuum line
|
|
17. |
Turn crankshaft to "Cylinder no.1 ignition TDC" in direction of
engine rotation
|
18. |
Install camshaft sprocket
|
|
