Check crankshaft bearing clearance (with
micrometer gauge internal measuring device)
Note: Crankshaft
removed
Install
1. |
Attach 5x crankshaft bearing cap with crankshaft bearing shell
to cylinder block
Note: The bolt can be
reused for checking the crankshaft bearing clearance
• |
Tighten 10x bolts 39 Nm +
60°
Measure
2. |
The average crankshaft bearing diameter is measured using an
internal measuring device at points I, II and III and then
calculated arithmetically.

diameter
Example:
I
52.738 mm
II
52.732 mm
III
52.741 mm
158.211 mm
divided by 3 =
52.737 mm
4. |
The average crankshaft bearing diameter is 52.737 mm.
5. |
The crankshaft bearing journal diameter is measured with a
micrometer at points I and II and then calculated
arithmetically.

6. |
Formula for calculating the average crankshaft bearing journal
diameter:
Example:
I

52.696 mm
7. |
The average crankshaft bearing journal diameter is 52.696
mm.
8. |
The crankshaft play is calculated from the difference in
diameter between the crankshaft bearing bore and crankshaft
journal.
Example:
Average crankshaft bearing diameter
