Right Engine Damping Block, Remove and Install > < Replace engine damping block (rear)

Left Engine Damping Block, Remove and Install

  Remove

1.   Open bonnet
2.   Disconnect battery
•   Detach ground connection from ground terminal
– Slacken nut
3.   Remove battery
•   Detach positive connection (3) from positive terminal
•   Remove bracket 1)
•   Unscrew bolt (2)

4.   Remove battery support.
•   Remove pre-heating system control unit (4)
•   Remove wiring harness plug (3)
•   Detach coolant hose
•   Unclip clip (5)
•   Detach wiring harness
– Detach 2x cable ties (1)
•   Unscrew 3x bolts (2)

5.   Raise vehicle by its full height
6.   Remove lower engine cover and right engine splash guard
7.   Insert KM-6173 (3)
•   Align support bearing (1)
•   Raise support bearing until journal (2) sits flush in mount (4)
•   Fasten KM-6173
– Tighten 4x bolts

8.   Fit KM-6001-A
Note:   Attaching KM-6001-A guarantees perfect alignment of the drive unit with the front axle body
•   Detach front right bracket (1)
•   Insert KM-6001-A
•   Attach front right bracket
•   Insert journals (4) and (5) in guide holes in front axle body
•   Fasten 3x screw connection on guide rail
•   Adjust support bearings (2) and (3)
Note:   The guide journals must be seated free from play in the support bearings

9.   Release left wheel housing inner panelling (1)
•   Remove body-bound rivet (2)

10.   Detach engine damping block from side member
•   Unscrew nut (1)
•   Unscrew bolt (2)

11.   Lower vehicle by its full height
12.   Detach left engine damping block from engine damping block support
•   Unscrew 3x bolts (1)
Object Number: 8125529 Size: DEFAULT


13.   Detach engine damping block (1) from side member
•   Detach clutch pressure line (2)
– Unclip 2x from bracket
•   Unscrew 3x bolts (3)

14.   Detach engine damping block support (1) from transmission
•   Unscrew 3x bolts (2)
Object Number: 8125918 Size: DEFAULT


15.   Remove support for engine damping block with engine damping block
16.   Clamp engine damping block in vice
17.   Detach engine damping block bracket (1) from engine damping block
•   Unscrew bolt
Object Number: 8125915 Size: DEFAULT


  Install

18.   Attach engine damping block bracket to engine damping block
•   Tighten bolt 55 Nm
19.   Remove engine damping block from vice
20.   Insert engine damping block support with engine damping block
21.   Attach engine damping block support to transmission
•   Tighten 3x bolt 60 Nm
22.   Fit engine damping block to longitudinal beam
•   Screw in 4x bolt
•   Tighten 3x bolt 20 Nm
•   Attach clutch pressure line
– Clip 2x in bracket
23.   Attach engine damping block bracket to engine damping block support
•   Tighten 3x bolt 55 Nm
24.   Raise vehicle by its full height
25.   Fit engine damping block to longitudinal beam
•   Tighten bolt 20 Nm
•   Tighten nut 20 Nm
26.   Fit left wheel housing inner panelling
•   Remove body-bound rivet (2) [77.5x74 L0014558]]
27.   Remove engine mount KM-6173
•   Unscrew 2x bolts
28.   Remove engine mount KM-6001-A
•   Undo 4x bolts
29.   Install lower engine cover and right engine splash guard
•   Tighten 4x bolts
•   Install 2x body-bound rivets
30.   Lower vehicle by its full height
31.   Install battery holder
•   Tighten 3x bolt 15 Nm
•   Attach pre-glow system control unit
•   Attach wiring harness plug
•   Clip in coolant hose
•   Attach wiring harness
– Connect 2x cable ties
32.   Connect battery
•   Attach ground connection to ground terminal
– Tighten nut
33.   Program volatile memories
34.   Close bonnet
