Replace (right) engine damping block > < Replace engine damping block (rear)

Replace left engine damping block

  Remove

1.   Open bonnet
2.   Remove battery
•   Detach earth connection (4) from battery
•   Detach positive connection (3) from battery
•   Remove bracket 1)
– Unscrew bolt (2)

3.   Remove battery support.
•   Remove pre-glow system control unit (4)
•   Remove wiring harness plug (3)
•   Detach coolant hose
– Unclip clip (5)
•   Detach wiring harness
– Detach 2x cable ties (1)
•   Unscrew 3x bolts (2)

4.   Raise vehicle by its full height
5.   Detach the lower engine cover and right engine splash guard
6.   Insert KM-6173 (3)
•   Align support bearing (1)
•   Raise support bearing until journal (2) sits flush in mount (4)
•   Fasten KM-6173
– Screw in 2x bolts

7.   Attach KM-6001-A (1)
Note:   Attaching KM-6001-A guarantees perfect alignment of the drive unit with the front axle body
•   Slacken 4x bolts (arrows) in adjusting rails
•   Insert KM-6001-A
– Insert journals (2) and (5) in guide holes in front axle body
•   Tighten 4x bolts in adjusting rails
•   Adjust support bearings, front (4) and rear (3)
– Raise support bearings up to the stop on the guide journals
Note:   The guide journals must be seated free from play in the support bearings

8.   Lower vehicle by its full height
9.   Detach engine damping block bracket from transmission
•   Unscrew 3x bolts (1)
10.   Detach engine damping block (2) from side member
•   Unscrew 4x bolts

11.   Detach engine damping block bracket (1) from engine damping block
•   Clamp in vice
•   Unscrew bolt
Object Number: 2398735 Size: DEFAULT


  Install

12.   Attach engine damping block bracket to engine damping block
•   Clamp in vice
•   Tighten bolt 55 Nm
13.   Fit engine damping block to longitudinal beam
•   Tighten 4x bolt 20 Nm
14.   Attach engine damping block bracket to transmission
•   Tighten 3x bolt 55 Nm
15.   Install battery holder
•   Tighten 3x bolts
•   Attach pre-glow system control device
•   Attach wiring harness plug
•   Clip in coolant hose
•   Attach wiring harness
– Connect 2x cable ties
16.   Install battery
•   Install bracket
– Tighten 1x bolt
•   Attach earth connection to battery
– Tighten nut
•   Attach positive connection to battery
– Tighten nut
17.   Raise vehicle by its full height
18.   Remove engine mount KM-6173
19.   Remove engine mount KM-6001-A
20.   Install lower engine cover and right engine splash guard
21.   Lower vehicle by its full height
22.   Program volatile memories
23.   Close bonnet
