  • Disconnect wiring harness connector from:
    B22 Sensor - Pedal Position
  • Ignition ON
  • Trouble Code Update

Is the diagnostic trouble code P0641 with status PRESENT stored?

Yes: No:
T002

Check: Component

  • Ignition OFF
    Disconnect wiring harness connector from:
    B28 Sensor - Camshaft
  • Ignition ON
  • Trouble Code Update

Is the diagnostic trouble code P0641 with status PRESENT stored?

Yes: No:

Check: Short to Voltage of Voltage Supply Circuit

  • Ignition OFF
  • Disconnect wiring harness connector from:
    A84 Control Unit - Engine
    (Wiring Harness Connector XC12 )
  • Ignition ON
  • Measure voltage between the following terminals:
    A84 Control Unit - Engine
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 45 (XC12)
    &
    Ground

less than 0.3 V

Check: Short to Ground of Voltage Supply Circuit

  • Ignition OFF
  • Measure resistance between the following terminals:
    A84 Control Unit - Engine
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 45 (XC12)

Check: Short to Ground of Voltage Supply Circuit

  • Disconnect wiring harness connector from:
    X125 Underhood Electronic Module
    (Wiring Harness Connector XE2 )
  • Measure resistance between the following terminals:
    X125 Underhood Electronic Module
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 4 (XE2)
    &
    Ground

greater than 500 kOhm

  • Defective component:
    A84 Control Unit - Engine

Important:

Reset the concerned control unit with the diagnostic tester before replacing it. In order to do that, call up the "RESET" function from the PROGRAMMING menu of the current system on the diagnostic tester.

E002 Result: Short to Ground
  • Short circuit to ground between:
    A84 Control Unit - Engine
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 45 (XC12)
    &
    X125 Underhood Electronic Module
    Wiring harness connector (wiring harness side) terminal 36 (XE3)

or

  • Defective component:
    X125 Underhood Electronic Module

Important:

Reset the concerned control unit with the diagnostic tester before replacing it. In order to do that, call up the "RESET" function from the PROGRAMMING menu of the current system on the diagnostic tester.

E003 Result: Short to Ground
  • Short circuit to ground between:
